Hi

I have a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica 4.0 FWD w/ the 6-speed transmission. & shifts very hard through 1-2 gear. Dealer said that is normal, it’s the torque of the car. Are they right?

Also how do I check the transmission fluid without going to the dealer & have to pay $35 to have them check it.

go test drive a van with the same 4.0 engine it will do the same thing. Inorder to check the fluid correctly u would need a scanner to check for trans temp and a special dip stick.

 

I also have an '07 touring and early on had the same problem. There is a service bulletin out on the tourqe converter. Mine was replaced under warrantee and that corrected the problem. Shifts smooth now.
