Default 2008 Pacifica stalls while braking

I have been very pleased with my 2008 Pacifica. It now has 94k miles and has done well to this point. Had to put in new radiator last month. Now, the car stalls at stops. When coming to slow stop the rpm may drop to 300-400 and shutter. It will either die or regain idle rpm of about 700 and be fine. It will start right back up. If you have to stop quickly it generally dies. It is very dangerous to drive. I have read a few posts and discovered that there may be a systemic problem in earlier models which were recalled. I have read about this problem on other Pacificas but everything I have read so far seems inconclusive. I do not trust most shops to identify the correct problem. What do I need to have fixed?

Sounds to me like the torque converter may be going or is bad

Try shifting to Neutral just before coming to a complete stop. See if that helps. Thanks. *BW*
