87 or 89 Octane - 05 - 3.5 Pacifica Touring

Hey Chrysler World - just discovered the 05 Pacifica Touring wants 89 octane gas - will start to use - has performed ok, however, could this be the cause of the "GASCAP" odometer code I've been getting - even after changing the purge valve and the leak detection pump at the EVAP Canister?

Thanks,

The two are in no way related.

The first thing you should have checked/changed was the gas cap itself. (Always do the cheapest and easiest thing first.) Your best bet is to try a new OEM cap. Aftermarket caps are not always up to standards.

Need Some Help With 02 Sensors - AfterMarket

DCotter0579!

Need some help. I have ordered a new catalytic converter and want to know how to order the "correct" 02 sensors? First, I know it takes two on the 3.5, one before and after the converter. However, my concern is I will order two online only to find out they are not considered OEM and thus not recognized by the Pacifica's PCM.

Is this even an issue as I have heard before? Or if it is, how can I be sure I have ordered 02 Sensors that will function properly and clear the P0420 code and then the "Check Engine" light on the dash?

Thanks, open to ALL SUGESTIONS!

Thanks,

PS: You have helped me b4 and I appreciate it!

02 sensors do not cause the 420 they are what diagnose the 420 code.
upstream o2 sensors sees X amount of oxygen passes through the converter then down stream o2 sensor should se X amount. when they do not match 2 times dirving the same cycle the code pops up.

Thank you! I think you are saying the Catalytic Converter needs to be replaced, which it will be as soon as it arrives. My concern was finding 02 sensors that are compatible with the Pacifica. What do you think of Walker or NTK products in this regard?

Thanks,

Scott

Don't forget about looking into the "spark plug anti-fouler" trick. Been using that one on my '05 Pac, the O2 light has been solidly off ever since.

Hey Chrysler Tech,

I looking for a catalytic converter and muffler to order for my 05 Chrysler Pacifica 3.5 AWD Touring. My mechanic wants me to bring him one with the bung to the rear. (See diagram.) However, most I find online have the bung in the middle. Can you recommend a site to buy the correct catalytic converter and a muffler to match.

Thanks,
