Default 900 mhz transmitter/dvd setup

Hey, I have a 2006 with a IR type changer. I have the screen, headphones, remote for the 900mhz RF type. I want tokeep mp3 capability. I have the cd/tape radio. My ideas. 1: I keep my changer and install a 900 mhz transmitter like the POWER ACOUSTIK HP-902RFT (assuming I can tap it to the audio) idea 2: I change the dvd changer to thye RF type and then change the radio to the RAH one with Mp3. What do you guys think. Also. is there any difference between the two wireless remotes? Any issues I might have if I use the IR dvd changer with the RF rear setup? Kevin

Yes I'm keeping the IR changer. (I want to keep the MP3 capability) I put in the non IR mopar screen today. But, my car did not have the extension cable up to the A-pillar. So I used the cable that came with the screen and it has no wires on the pin outs for audio and IR activate. I wish I could just get the pin contacts to put in the plug, but I'm sure I have to order the IR extension cable. I am wandering what output the IR activate gives. neg. or pos. or ? I want to use this output to turn on the 900mhz transmitter. I will keep posting.

Pinoutsare on my 2006 IR changer. But the wiring and screen are for the RF type. The plug is the same, just has no wires or contacts (pin sockets)where I need them. The dealer wants $240.00 for just the lower cable. Thats not gonna happen. Anyone here have ANY cable that will plug into the changer? Either plug will work as I will remove the contacts I need and add them to my existing plug, I have been searching ebay. I wish I knew where to get just the little contacts I need. I only need 3. As soon as I get these parts I will complete this project. Thanks.

I ask because I have the Manual on CD if you need diagrams. Also.. you should be able to get the plug w/ 12" pigtail or so. They call them "repair connectors" I am getting one for my Megacab(about $14 for the 12pin connector VES DVD/Screen) . Dealer uses them to repair harnesses etc.

I'd like a manual for sureHow complete is it? Like what does it cover? Thats a good idea about the repair connector, I didn't think of that. Now I have to get the dealer to find it in their system. If anyone knows the part number let me know.

You can get the service manuals(cd) on Ebay for $10-$50. They cover the entire car and they are pretty thorough. Dealer should be able to tell you the P/N's

Ok, My dealer says there is no repair connector for the dvd changer. Does anyone have any part numbers for one? The search continues. Mrfixit, do you have a pic of the plug end of the connector you got? If it is a similar style, I might be able to remove just the pin sockets and insert them in my plug. Thanks.
