Default Buying a '07 or '08

Well I've been lurking here for a few weeks and haven't been able to find the info I'm looking for which might be a good thing. Anyway I really like the '07 and '08 Pac and am looking at a few with reasonable mileage on them, 60k 100k. I see where the '06 and older had some trouble with low idle stalls and they seem to have taken care of that bug in the 07/08. Does anyone know of any other major issues with the last two model years that might keep me from buying this vehicle? I really like the touring edition with the AWD leather fully loaded.
Thanks for the help.

I have an '07 bought new. It now has 65,000 on it and the only issues I have experienced is the tourque converter ploblem that was addressed under warrantee, and is listed as a service bulliten. You should check this out on any '07 and see that it was taken care of. The only other issue was replacement of a tie rod. Be advised that our Pac was driven twice to Alaska and while most of the roads were great, some were not so great. We plan on having our Pac for quite a while yet since they have been discontinued and the replacement, the Dodge Journey is a joke in comparison. Here's wishing you great luck in your search.

I have a 2007 like what you're looking for - Touring AWD with leather, CD-DVD/6 CD/DVD player (I just don't have the screens), power liftgate, etc. It had 46k when I bought her in May 2011; I have 65K now.

I love it. I have wanted one since they came out and when they quit making them, I nearly cried. I agree with SDHusker - the Dodge Journey is a joke. It's so tiny and the material quality cheap compared to what I have.

Going into the purchase, I knew to expect motor mount issues (walked away from another Pacifica because the problem was there but they refused to fix). So when I bought this one, I heard/felt the tell-tale jolting and had it fixed under the dealer's 30 day warranty.

The only other problem I have is P0732 error - something about the transmission. I'm far from a motorhead and all I know is that because it's AWD it's not that easy to check transmission fluids, etc. I've had this error light for a couple months, and I every now and then, the tranny doesn't shift as nicely going from drive/neutral/park and vice versa. So I try to take it easy on her. Driving though, it seems to be fine. My husband is the motorhead and he keeps an eye on how it sounds and drives.

Other than that, I love love love my Pac!! It's been my dream car for a long time. Despite my two issues above, I would still highly recommend an '07/'08. The older ones, from what I read on this forum before my purchase, did seem to be more problematic.

And the gas mileage is great for the size vehicle it is - my lowest was 18 mpg and highest was 22 mpg (not going by the computer which was at 14 when I bought her and just over 16 now).

Happy hunting!
