Default Climate Control

Here's another little problem the dealership will address next week. In our '07 Touring the climate control when set for heating temps show it programed to heat toward the floor, however all the heat comes out the defrost vent. Vern annoying when your face is hot and your feet are cold. Has anyone else had this problem?[:@]

I am experiencing the exact same issue -
cold feet - very hot face!
Had into my local dealer today, who indicated that this is 'normal' for this model - how the heck can that be NORMAL??
Please let me know how you make out with your dealer - I NEED to get this fixed asap!
thanks!

Thanks for your input MOE. Had the dealer check the climate control and they said it's working fine. Never mind that the heat still comes out of the defrost with little or nothing directed to the feet. It will be interesting when it comes to air conditioning time.

TAKE IT back and show them EXACTLY what the concern is. I have found the ATC on the PAC is the best Chrysler makes. My 05 is always on the AUTO setting[low] at 20c in the winter and 18-19c in the summer. About the only time I might change it,is when the boy has just finshed a hockey game and the windshield is fogging. I will change it to W/S and floor. Being a tech who drives different Chrysler products all day,I find the Pac's ATC to best suit what I like and has the quietest blower motor.

Had my PAC back in AGAIN (5th TIME!) for this issue... again they are trying to tell me that this is 'normal'.
The delear'sFIX was to stick a piece of FOAM in the defrost vent to reduce the amount of air coming out..... please - someone tell me that I am not crazy for thinking that this is somehow an admittance of there actually being a bigger problem (i mean - why would you stick FOAM in my vent if this was 'normal')
I'm REALLY hoping that someone actually has a knowledgable dealer in their area that can actually diagnose and fix this issue...
NOT a happy PAC owner!

Is there another dealer close for you to go? I'd take it to the dealer one more time, talk to service mgr or maybe even the general mgr and explain the history of your problem. Tell them this is thier last chance to fix it before you go to another dealer and if that 2nd dealer can fix the problem, they will be getting all your fucture repair and SALES business.

this is whatchrysler says about the" atc dual settings." nothing about wearing face mask!!
AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL (ATC) - DUAL ZONE
The dual zone automatic temperature control (ATC) heating-A/C system allows completely independent side-to-side temperature control of the discharge air.
The dual zone ATC system includes a dust and odor filter. The particulate air filter element is the same size as the A/C evaporator to ensure ample capacity. A door at the base of the HVAC housing below the glove box provides easy access to the particular air filter element.
FRONT A/C-HEATER CONTROL

The ATC A/C-heater control (1) is located in the instrument panel and contains:
[*]two temperature set controls (2) for completely independent side-to-side temperature control of the discharged air. The full range of temperature that the system can produce in any mode is available on either side of the vehicle by independently adjusting the controls.[*]a power on/off switch (3). Allows the heating-A/C system to be completely turned Off. The display indicates only the outside temperature when the system is off.[*]a display screen (4) to indicate the heating-A/C system operational modes and inside and outside temperatures.[*]a dual zone control (5). Allows the selection of either single (driver) or dual (driver and passenger) temperature control mode.[*]a separate front window defogger on/off switch (6). Contains an LED that illuminates to indicate when the front widow defroster is manually selected.[*]a rear window defogger on/off switch (7). Contains an LED that illuminates to indicate when the EBL system is On.[*]an air conditioning on/off switch (8). Contains an LED that illuminates to indicate when the A/C mode is manually selected.[*]an air recirculation on/off switch (9). Contains an LED that illuminates to indicate when the Recirculation mode is manually selected.[*]a manual mode switch (10). Allows the operator to manually select the air delivery mode.[*]an infrared temperature sensor (11) which measures the surface temperature of the driver and front seat passenger.[*]a manual blower fan speed switch (12). Allows the operator to manually select six different fan speeds.[*]a outside temperature switch (13). Allows the operator to select either outside air or passenger set temperatures.[*]a rear blower fan switch (14). Allows the operator to set the rear blower fan speed to AUTO for automatic speed adjustment, or to REAR to give control to the intermediate seat occupants, or OFF to shut the rear blower motor down.[*]an auto high and an auto low switch (15). Allows various modes of automatic temperature control operation. Contains LEDs that illuminate to indicate when operational.[/ul]NOTE:ATC front A/C-heater control is NOT interchangeable between other model years. If replacement of an A/C-heater control is required, only use the control designed for the model year of the vehicle being serviced.[/b]
The computer logic remembers the settings of the A/C-heater control when the ignition is turned to Off and, retains the settings after a restart, etc. The computer logic also provides variable air recirculation under high temperature and humidity conditions. Recirculation mode is initially accompanied by outside air to help remove any humidity within the passenger compartment and will gradually approach full recirculation over a broad range of temperatures.
REAR A/C-HEATER CONTROL

The rear rotary blower fan control (1) is centrally mounted on the center floor console (2) between the second row seats and allows control of the rear blower fan speed by intermediate seat passengers when the front A/C-heater control is set to the REAR position.
Primary controls for the rear compartment is on the instrument panel. The front A/C-heater control allows the driver to set the rear compartment blower fan speed, turn the rear unit off, or to give control to the intermediate seat occupants by switching to the REAR position. When the rear system is controlled from the instrument panel, rear blower fan speed is automatically controlled based on the front A/C-heater control temperature setting. Air flow through the floor console is directed through upper or lower outlets based on the front mode settings.
