Default Code P2068 fix?

I have a 2005 PAC 3.5L. The gas gauge stays right about a half tank all of the time. The computer is kicking code P2068. I have reset the computer and codes. The same one always comes up. I am guessing the fix is a new sending unit. Does this sound right? Is there something simpler? Help

I believe there was a TSB for this type of problem... not sure if it is exact to yours or not.

My Pacifica is a 2005. Would the problem have been corrected at the factory during production by then?

I was thinking a fuel sending unit problem. What do you think?

Maybe... not sure if you can do this with the newer cars but in the past, one would ground the sending wire to see if the gauge went to "F". If it did, the sending unit was at fault. Since yours stays at 1/2 mark all the time, maybe the gauge or the computer running the gauge is bad. Its really hard to say without doing trouble shooting. Also, if the sending unit was out of the tank, one could check the Resistance of the unit by moving the float up and down. If Resistance changes, unit is OK depending if the high and low resistance is within the range of the sending unit. If you are going to do this, you are going to need a shop manual which might better help trouble shoot the condition. Maybe Chrysler tech can add more info here.

The gauge moves some, when I fill up it goes up to around the 3/4 mark, as the tank empties it slowly drops down just below the 1/2 mark. The code is always on.
