Default Condenser replacement in '08 Pacifica

Background: AC stopped working, found massive hole in condensor. System completely empty of refrigerant.

I pulled the front end off and removed the condenser and have a new one on order including replacement drier.

Question I have is, can I just recharge it myself after getting everything put back together? Any benefit of having the shop add 24oz for me?

when a shop does it they put a vac on the system and removes any moisture in the system. its will them be the correct efficiency that is needed. if you do it yourself it will be fine just might not be as cold.
