I own an 06 chrysler pacifica with 113,121 miles. Over the past 2 months my engine light will occasionally come on and flash 5 times. Took my car in for an upper radiator house after an antifreeze leak since then no light. This evening on my way to work it one again came on and flashed 6 times. I've had nothing but problems over the last year I've owned my car is it time to sell it or is it gonna be an easy fix?

 

Anytime the check engine lamp lights, a diagnostic trouble code (dtc) is stored even after the lamp goes out. There are 3 types of dtc's, active which will light the lamp, stored which saves any previously active dtc's for 30-40 engines starts, and pending which are dtc's that do not meet the criteria to be reported as active. There are stored dtc's that will need to be pulled to determine why the check engine lamp turned on. Not all code readers will report stored codes and not all auto parts stores have code readers that pull/report on stored codes. Once you have the codes, please post back the codes.
