Under moderate/hard braking- especially down hill as I'm coming to a stop there is a popping or cracking noise coming from the front end. It is not the ABS. The noise is worse when towing my tent trailer (2000lbs). Anyone have similar issues? What was the cause/solution? Thanks for the help!

 

check your suspension, something might be loose or broken
and might check up on brake pads and rotors

 

I have the same exact issue.. '04 AWD. Lower control arm bushings and engine mounts. Car is in the shop now having that done.
