Full size spare tire

Full size spare tire
Well, I'm finally in a position to know the facts on a full size spare for a 2007 Pac touring. After considerable measuring and even finding that apparently one can order a full size spare as an option when ordering a vehicle from the factory I find that a full size tire will NOT fit the spare tire well of a Pac that comes with the pretend spare tire.
I bought a used wheel and tire so we will have a full spare on the trip to Alaska, but it will have to ride inside or on top.[:-]

RE: Full size spare tire
What if[sm=interesting.gif]you let the air out of the full sized tire would it fit then[sm=funnypostabove.gif]? I ask this because you can get a 12 volt air compressor and air the spare up when needed, if there is enough room for the spare tire to fit when uninflated.[sm=feedback.gif]
Like I said, it's just an idea.

RE: Full size spare tire
Interesting idea Farout. The problem is inside space. The tire will take up inside room, but so would the compressor. I have an air tank I considered taking along but with all the necessities of life (junk) we will be loading for the trip space is at a premium. I wonder if the full spare would fit even if not inflated. With the two muffler system in the '07 the darn thing would just not fit. I really wonder what Chrysler did when someone ordered an '07 with the optional full spare?
