Default hidden antenna issues

we have the hidden antena basically monofilament wire in the rear side window.... we do a lot of rural driving, and even in the city, if we turn the car another direction, the stereo gets fuzzy or we lose the signal entirely, what can we do about this?

we do have a satellite antenna, although it is just the base installed, however we do not subscribe to the service

my wife was on amazon and she saw an antenna for the pacifica that is a hi-def hidden am/fm antenna, would this work with the oem radio? or is this a whole other system that requires use of an hd capable aftermarket receiver? http://www.amazon.com/Chrysler-Pacif...4113051&sr=8-1

Jimbo,
Went to their website... http://www.thehoffmangroup.com/autol...odinc=antennas

Scroll down and they list it. Why don't you call them and ask questions. It is hard to believe that it would work better than conventional factory antennas but they have made a lot of changes in electronics these days.

i know our factory hidden antenna in the back window sucks.

is this an antenna to be used with an hd capable receiver only? or can the pacifica pick up those stations also?

Their literature says its to replace you ugly mast antenna for a clean look. This would imply any radio am/fm. why don't you call them?

tried calling, was put on hold for a long time, it doesn't mention if it is for hd radio, but does seem to replace the oem, however, the oem, isn't an ugly mast mount, like most, it is a single filament wire inside the rearmost passenger glass.....

anyone have any tips or tricks or upgrades to add to the factory oem to improve it's reception?

this product may work if it is what it sounds to be....

Jimbo, I realize the stocker isn't a mast but they say it is for a Pacifica (the one on amazon anyway). Sorry you could not get through. Maybe shoot them an email and see what happens? What you need the is the installation instructions for your specific vehicle, which I did not see available on the website.

I have the same problem with my '05 but it is more the crappy factory radio than the antenna. I temporarly hooked up a mast and it did not improve reception at all. On my way to work I pass a radio station and the factory radio will tune itself to it even though I am listening to another station. Power lines make it fade in and out and can only be reset by turning off the radio and back on again.
