My friend owns a dealership (not Chrysler, used) we put his scan tool which is very statye of the art on there and found some codes referring to full open/full closed, etc... we data logged it and the optical sensor seems to work ok the motor slides up and down fine when disconnected and the hatch opens and closes manually just fine. Resistance seems to increase and decrease normally, I'm lost!

Now we're getting somewhere.....

Hi/Low Limit is determined by a "HALL EFFECT SWITCH". There SHOULDNT be any stored DTC's for a Panic Reverse, since that is what he thinks he is expected to do.

If you can give me an exact designation for the codes...I can copy the test procedures and post them for you.

 

I'll have to do it again, didn't get to write them down. His scan tool wouldn't allow the re-learn, not sure if the subscription would enable it or if it's reserved to Chrysler techs.

Got the "misc" flash today and now it works fine. I have a feeling it may been a recall or tsb but my $100 was more than Chrysler was going to pay them.
