Default noisy acceleration

I just got a 2008 pacifica that is very loud when the car accelerates. Is this normal? It usually get quieter when it's in third gear.

The 4.L engine not only has very good accleration, and inoreder for that power there is a fast draft of air into the throttel body. Nothing to worry about. Try not punching it, and the noise won't be as loud. You can have the dealer check it out as well to make sure the airfilter is attached properly. Whay kind or mpg are you getting? Do you have a AWD?

I have an '07 touring AWD and I agree, the acceleration is very good. It is somewhat noisy but I like the sound. It sounds like a Hemi wannabe.

I have awd and it gets about 18 mpg in the country. It has about 1400 miles on it. Will the gas mileage improve with age?

The 4.0 Pacs have a nice growl when stepped on. Enjoy. As far as mileage, it depends upon outside temp, type of driving, speed traveled and other conditions. We recently traveled over 4,000 miles on a winter trip south and got as high as 27 MPG. Overall trip mileage was 19.

Ditto on SDHUSKER's mileage. My '07 gets the same. The trick is to use the cruise control on the highway, it definately makes a difference on mpg. Also above 75 mph the mileage drops.
