P0 457 and PO 456 - Ideas? Help?
Hey everyone! Got a PO 457 - Fuel Cap and PO 456 - "Very Small Leak". So the fuel cap is a MoPar original and brand new from the dealership. I checked all the visible connects and things looked tight. However, when I pulled the cover off the evap canister area there was one hose that had receded. I pulled it and reconnected it properly.
When I started the 05 Pacifica it did throw the GasCap Odometer code, however, this time it seems a bit delayed. Am I on to something?
Where is the most common place on the 05 Pacifica 3.5 Touring to have a "small leak" in the evap system?
Thanks,
UberPacifica2005

Could be anywhere, some even report a crack forming on one of the plastic hose fittings on the fuel tank. BEST way is to have a smoke test done...That will locate the leak for sure without hours of visual inspecting that may not find the source.

Agree w/ Rebel. My Pac drove over a large piece of concrete that was jutting out in a grocery store parking lot a few years ago. Was one hell of an impact, smashed the plastic tank up against the car body, cracked one or more of the plastic fittings going into the tank.
Was throwing codes, would not pass inspection, wound up finding these very small cracks with a smoke test, but the leak was very small and hard to spot.
