Power Mirrors and Memory Settings

Power Mirrors and Memory Settings
I have a 2005 Pacifica Limited. It has the two driver memory storage settings - seat, mirrors, etc. move to a preset position when unlocking the car.
I have noticed that sometimes the mirrors don't go to the right position when activating this feature. They move, but they go to some seemingly random position. I would not say that it appears to be related to weather or temperature. Sometimes it happens, sometimes they go where they're set to go.
Does anyone have any suggestions on the cause or how to troubleshoot this? Thanks in advance!

I believe that the side mirror assembly was already replaced to a unit that doesn't support memory settings. I already experienced this when I broke my side view mirror and replacing the whole assembly with that I bought. I just re-attached my original unit and just replaced the mirror that was broken. The memory setting went back to normal
