Question Remote start

I'm looking to put a remote start on my wife's 08 Pacifica. The guy at the aftermarket place said he would have to disable the alarm system and install a new one with a remote start. Is this necessary? Does chrysler do this. Any help is welcomed.

I have an after market remote start on my 04 Pacifica. The alarm system is fully functional.

The aftermarket guy is probably right.Chrysler doesn't recommed an aftermarket device because is not compatible with their technology...I really doubt it...but in order to have it working correctly you will have to disable the original system and install the new one. I'm positive it will work if it gets installed correctly.
