Spark Plugs - 2008 Pacifica 3.8L engine
I ran the factory spark plugs in my 2008 4.0L Chrysler Pacifica way too long - I don't remember, but let's say about 150K miles. The car was running rough, rough/clunky hard shifts, and eventually got a misfire error code when I punched the gas hard one day. When I pulled the spark plugs, the upper wires was almost completely eroded away - I'm amazed the car even ran. I originally did the Champion plugs, the car ran a little better, but would stall at traffic lights as if the idle was set too low. When I switched to what the owners manual said for both the 3.8L and the 4.0L engine, which was ZFR5LP-13G (which is an NGK plug), the car ran like new, and even the hard clunky shifts went away. I don't know why so many things ran better with the NGK plugs, but they have. If you're gonna tear into it, I would do the NGK's while I was in there. They worked better for me. I'm at 210K miles and still running smooth.
