Default Stereo's Aux Input Shuts Off Between Songs

In my 2008 Pac I connect my MP3 player to the RCA AUX Inputs, but if the pause between songs is more than just three seconds, it shuts off and displays "NO AUX". Then it won't turn back on until it detects inputs again, which sometimes is well into the next song. It's so annoying that prevents me from even using it, which in my book means it doesn't work.

Is there a way to reprogram the stereo so that the AUX input just stays on?

Just a suggestion but I have the same car and I found if the volume on the mp3 player isn't turned up all the way it becomes intermittent like you describe. I max mine out and haven't had the problem since.

Yes, already did that, although my player at max volume is still a bit on the quiet side. I'm actually already looking for a better player (louder, shorter gaps), but those features are never mentioned in the specs.

Fixing the stereo is still preferred. I'm wondering if connecting a watch battery to the video input would "tickle" it into thinking there's always an input.
