Stop-Start Unavailable; Battery Charging
The error message, "Stop-Start Unavailable; Battery Charging" is always displayed.
Doesn't matter if I've been cruising all day, or if I put a regulated 4-step (bulk, finish, float, equalize) charger on it all night.
Suggestions?
2019 Pacifica
27k miles
Original battery, cranks strongly

I have a 2021 Chrysler Voyager with 85k. This message started appearing recently. Both batteries have been recently replaced with OEM batteries manufactured last year. I pulled both of them out and had them tested - both looked great. Alternator checks out too.
Did you find a fix for this problem?

I found this on another forum -
"If you scroll through the items in the driver information display, what is noted as why ESS is not available? If it says Battery Charging, it means the aux battery is not getting charged enough. If you are only driving short distances, you are not driving enough to get a full charge into the aux battery. I used to just drive short distances in town for groceries etc (we're retired). The ESS almost always showed Battery Charging. When we did take a longer drive to the next town an hour away, I would watch the ESS notation. It often took until we were half way home again, one and a half hours driving at highway speed, before the warnings went away and the ESS would work again"
I don't know if it applies to you. But it makes sense that driving short distances may not completely charge the aux battery.
