I am having the same issue rookiemom is having.
Car over heated once so I pull the thermostat and tested it.
It only partially opened so I replaced it.
Local parts store put the housing in a vice to knock out the old T-stat.
I put it all back together and leaked from the housing. The vice bent the housing and I was not seated properly.
I bought a new housing, and I am still leaking from the bottom of housing.
I have reassembled it 4 times so far, and took a cab into work today LOL.
Any helpful hints?
