RE: Thinking About Buying a Pac

Although it looks like a nice car, you might want to listen to Levistar.. the dealer only wanted to give me $9500 for my 04 w/ 33k miles and it is loaded and in excellent condition. This was Jan 07 so it's probably worse now. I kept it. So.. you can probably find one more loaded for a few more thousand. The fancy features of the Pacifica are really nice. Also.. Do the carfax report yourself, unless you really know and trust this person.

Well it's a little too late for me... the dealer already sold it to someone else before i got there....

But I saw this base model online: for 6500.00 (clean car fax, this vehicle was used as a Commercial Vehicle)

Here are the Specs: [ul][*]Mileage: 69,000 Miles[*]Body Style: SUV[*]Exterior Color: Blue[*]Interior Color: Tan[*]Engine: 3.5L V6[*]Transmission: AUTO 4SPD[*]Drivetrain: FWD[*]Doors: 5[*]Wheelbase: 116 Inches[/ul]I did the car fax report and it's clean.... they are asking for 6500.00 for this model....

I don't care about the hub caps, i have new rims & tires that will replace the stock ones, and i will be changing the stereos and speakers as well..... My only concerns is the mileage, most likely all highway miles but 25K miles a year is kinda alot... thoughts? i don;t drive much, only in the weekends....

Is this a good deal, or should i steer clear? I plan on test riding it tomorrow.

RE: Thinking About Buying a Pac

I would agree with levistar. Research the options that are available on Pacs. I think you'll find there my be some things you may want later. Take a Touring or older Limited for a test ride.I have an 06 with lots(but not all) of the options. They're what I like about the car, and why I bought it. I was sick and tired of driving base model, cookie cutter cars. I always wished I had gotten the rims, sunroof, leather,...etc. If you can afford to pay a bit more for some of the luxuries, you will better appreciate this car. Igot a ride withsomeone that got a good deal on aused 05 rental and I was suprise how bare bones it was. It didn't even seem like the same car.

06Pac.... though the Rims and all the other goodies may be good, i'm a simple man... Again, i'm putting 20 in rims on the Pac as well as a new sound system, i'm a mountain biker and plan on taking my bikes in the back (this is the reason why i want the regulat Pac and not the Touring, i need the space in the back, plus i don't care much abotu the 3rd seat, my family consist of 4.

i was just asking if a Pac with 69K miles for 6500K is a good deal? I mean for a 3 year old car it has 69K miles on it....

thoughts?

If you was buying from a lot even with 69000 miles I think they would ask more than that, although the trade in price is lower than 6500 and that's for excellent condition. Is it really worth it to you as Pacifica's depreciate quickly if it fits your lifestyle and you can get the price down as low as you can I think it is worth it, see if he will knock off 800 instead of 500 and that would put you in a good price range for a base model and I believe you will be happy with it. I have the third row seats which never get used, and the 3.5 which I love great motor not familiar with the 3.8 Chrysler motor, I can put an over sized mug in the passenger seat and I don't have to hold on to it, It rides very well with out spilling. I know I am only one opinion but I would say It's worth it and your bikes will fit in it good too I have two mountain bikes that ride well in it.

RE: Thinking About Buying a Pac

Have 2006 Pacifica base model & am quite pleased.
Quite good service (couple of trips in to get abs sensors replaced), piece of trim missing on rt rear door when delivered.
Am 6 ft tall, north of 200 lbs, 70+ years old and it's quite comfortable for me. just don't bend as far and as fast as previously for wife's honda.
mileage isn't great (on road is fine) but a few miles to a golf course 3 times a week isn't too bad in town, especially now that gas is well below $4 gal.
still have nearly a year of warranty left and have been concerned whether there would actually BE a Chrysler dealer around to service it during the next year . . . sure hope so.
summary: nice, comfortable road car for many thousands less that others i looked at. only miss some kind of rear door release, not any of the other goodies that can also be problems.

good luck,

Pete

I believe your question was answered. We all generally believe the price is good, but we pretty much all have said to look at a Pac with some options. They really make the car.
