What happens is at random my car shuts off. It doesn't matter if I am idle or just driving down the road. The dash board lights up like a Christmas tree then my needles for gas as well as speed go down, and then it stalls out but then turns back on. Now I did have it once not turn back on and had to wait a bit before it would start back up.

I took it into the dealer and they told me they could not duplicate the problem nor do they see one. I am thinking its something is overheating because this only happens in the warmer months and I never have this problem when its cold out.

Any suggestions?

 

There was a lady on the forum here a few months back whose PT Cruiser just shut itself off. Her mechanic was likewise puzzled. Turned out her payments were not up to date and the finance company had installed a remote shut-down on the car that they activated.

 

My payments are indeed up to date. I wish it was as simple a fix as that.
