Default 01 T&C A/C question

New to the site. Help.

My wife drives a 2001 T&C that we have been pleased with overall but seem to have a great deal of difficulty with the A/C - it is the multiple zone digital A/C. First the A/C worked well but only on max A/C. If you turned the fan speed down it would automatically switch to defrost. Then the blower motor quit alltogether. Rear A/C worked great. I replaced the power module and all went working as designed (the new part does not have all the connections as the original but it worked). Approximately 8 weeks later the drivers side vent went to heat while the rest of the system is on cool. Less than a week later the passenger side went to slightly warm, drivers side still on heat and the rear A/C works fine. Is it a sensor, the head unit, a damper or damper motor or is it "out of calibration"?

The repair manual says that there is a self diagnostic procedure but does not elaborate. It says that it is "extensive" and to take it to a dealer. Anyone have the procedure? I can fix if I know what is wrong - heck, I don't mind paying to get it fixed but I do not want a dealer charging me to guess which component to change next.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

turn the key to on and press the power and recirc buttons at the same time for 3 seconds. this should start the self diagnostic procedure and recalibrate all of the doors and dampers.I had the same problem with mine and it ended up being a leak in the condenser on the front of the van. look at the bottom passenger side edge of the condenser for oily residue if the recalibrate does not work...

Recalibration did not seem to work. Pushed both power and recirc for 3 seconds -nothing, 4 seconds -nothing, 5 seconds and the air came on. Vents up front werecool and went to hot.

Question, it could not be a condenser or compressor because the rear A/C still blows cold, right? I mean, there is only one compressor so if the refrigerant leaked, they would all go warm right?

What are the chances of it being a temp sensor? Ifind it hard to believe thatone electric control for adamper went right after the other. May have to take to a dealer but not excited about it. Any other thoughts, ideas?

You have the Automatic Temperature Control Correct? the one that has the digital readout?the power/recirc thing should have recalibrated all the doors. it is unlikely if you are getting good cold air out of the back that there is an issue with refrigerant. I would lean toward the blend door being stuck and not closing off the heater core or maybe a faulty ambient temperature sensor. if you turn the key off and then on three times, the odometer display willl show any stored DTCs try this and tell me if any codes are stored.

JeepAndAVan, it chimed 5 times and then said DONE on the odometer. So apparently no stored codes.

CHRYSLER TECH, I will have the refrigerent checked today. On that note, I checked the compressor lines and one line is hot (normal) and the other is cool but not cold. Might be the problem - will advise findings, but why is the rear air still blowing cold?

Thanks for all the input guys.

One more for Chrysler Tech. Thanks for your help.
The condenser failed at a weld. Checking into potential warranty - not banking on it but heard that this was a "known" defect and warranty was extended for them. Mine is a 01 though but only has 73K miles. We will see.

Thanks again guys!

the warranty was extended for the compressors not the condensors.
