01 t&c cranks no run

This one wont be easy 01 t&c 3.8 quit and no start dealer replaced pcm we have current info if i pay i want some good help because im good and can gather more info as needed. I dont have enough tech info to affect repair

CHRYSLER TECH 11-18-2011 11:26 AM

and u dont have enough info posted for any one to give any ideas of whats wrong.

hefmarkie 11-18-2011 11:50 AM

ok here is what i have. 2002 town & country, 3.8. died while going down road. no spark...dealer had it a year never got it going. they installed a reman pcm and crank sensor. now i have inspected all related wiring, no chafing or obvious breaks. in another forum it recomended probing the ign coil lead for battery voltage at key on there was voltage, next it said to crank eng there should be voltage during crank. no voltage. asd relay swapped with like relay still no spark. replaced cam sensor, no spark. only codes in pcm are coolant temp sensor and mat sensor. i can provide more when given instructions on test

CHRYSLER TECH 11-18-2011 12:13 PM

a dealer had it for a year??? what was that crap?
ok U have voltage at the coil did u have ground pulses when cranking on the other 3 wires?

hefmarkie 11-19-2011 09:12 PM

i had voltage at key on for a few seconds but on crank voltage was gone so i didnt go to that step ... tried energizing asd relay to c if that would start eng didnt

hefmarkie 11-19-2011 09:16 PM

most modern so called techs are just part changers i have to do some hard diagnosis on this one... not a prob Kevin... been there before as a Cad tech so help me out on this one

CHRYSLER TECH 11-19-2011 09:49 PM

I did i asked u if there was a GROUND PULSE on the other wires at the coil when cranking. Not voltage but ground. The voltage comes from the asd relay then turns off when not trying to crank the engine.

hefmarkie 11-20-2011 07:20 AM

what method should i use for that test ? test light on b+ and probe for pulse or meter

CHRYSLER TECH 11-20-2011 07:42 AM

test light on b+ would be better

hefmarkie 11-21-2011 10:11 AM

no pulse w/light . i called your number left message

CHRYSLER TECH 11-21-2011 10:20 AM

Then u have a computer issue or a wire issue cam or crank sensor. Issue. I don't take personal calls sorry I can't open that door I already get calls and emails from all over the world

TNtech 11-21-2011 11:01 AM

Are you getting communication with the PCM at all? I guessing some dingaling at the dealer just saw that and threw a PCM at it.

hefmarkie 11-22-2011 11:42 AM

yes i have a data stream from the pcm

What does your cam/crank sync look like? Give it about 15 secs of cranking see if you see one of them drop out. I want to be clear on something first...is the new PCM they put in still in the car?

hefmarkie 11-22-2011 12:57 PM

yes the replacement pcm is the one in the vehicle now. my scanner only shows rpm and it stays at 0 during crank

hefmarkie 11-22-2011 01:07 PM

my books here bypass the 01/02 yr mods and dont show where the crank sensor is can u let me know the loc of that sensor

CHRYSLER TECH 11-22-2011 01:36 PM

driver side where the trans and engine meet

hefmarkie 11-22-2011 02:06 PM

there are two paramaters out of range to go with the codes stored
tps reads 100% and unplugged it still is @ 94
cts reads -40 @59f outside

Sure looks like you have 5V reference circuit issue. What the exact problem with it is, there is no way I can tell you from here. Lots of meter probing.

hefmarkie 11-23-2011 09:17 AM

i know it would take time and alot of effort for anyone to help me with this veh. wish i was able to find a pay for tech support that was credible so i had the info make this veh run again because i know i can
