Default 05 T&C ECU/ECM location

Hello,

I have a 2005 T&C Touring that might have a bad ECM/ECU. Car cranks but wont start. Brought it to a mechanic who tested the electronics and supposedly ruled out bad wiring, blown fuses, battery, fuel pump, etc. According to them the ECU needs to be replaced (by process of elimination). Having trouble finding it, though. It is not listed in my repair manual, and everything I search for online shows it right in front of the engine compartment fuse box, though I suppose that's for the same model but different year. Can anyone take a picture or link to a diagram of its location?

Greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the replies! I forgot to post an update. As CHRYSLER TECH said, it is in front the the driver side wheel well. Had to go in with a stubby screwdriver to get it out. Unfortunately I replaced it and the problem was not resolved. But at least I found it.

Thanks again.

Engine Control Management computer is directly in front of the battery/PDC, The transmission PCM gearbox [TCM] is under the wheel arch isn't it ?

I'm UK and a 'right hand drive' Grand Voyager CRD not American petrol, and am with (Lordpercy) and Ive had mine out, see :

You a correct about the location of the NGC, but the NGCs were first used in 2004 model year vans.
The 2003 vans still had the SBEC.

I'm happy to be corrected chrysler tech but in this case we are talking about the O/P's 2005 Mk4 not the 3 or even the 2nd generation. In the 90s and up the SBEC PCM and logic modules were combined into either SMEC or SBEC, and stored in the engine bay, usually near the battery [ totally different beginnings of the now CANbus where non special scanners were not needed just the IGN KEYDANCE ] to read these codes; all you need is your ignition key. ] were they not ?

SBEC Single Board engine Computers in the vans were used from 1996 to 2002 mid 2002 they went to NGC 4 connectors the PCM and TCM where built together
Look at a wire diagram the mid year 2002 were either SBEC or NGC all 2003 up to present are NGC

rcreagh has an RS van 2001 - 2007 body style As for UK stuff i cant tell you I have not working on any UK spec cars. The key dance was software put in my the engineering community for most Chrysler up to 2004 or 05 now it does not work on alot of them.

I think you are looking at Manufactured year vs Model year. My 2003 (model year) was manufactured on 9/13/2002 and has an engine control module in front of the fuse box and a separate transmission control module located forward of the left front tire, behind the splash shield (VIN = 2D4GP34L73Rxxxxxx).
