Recently purchased 1992 Plymouth Voyager V6. Seller told me that it did not come with Air Conditioning. I took this to mean that the A/C option was not selected when it was purchased new from the dealership.
However under the hood I can clearly see an A/C compressor with a couple of wires connecting to presumably the compressor's clutch. There are insulated hoses running through the firewall presumably to a condenser. I check the fuse box and there's a missing 20 amp fuse from spot #20 "REAR A/C". Attempting to insert a fuse into that spot or any of the other vacant spots is futile because there is nothing on the backside to grip the blades and the fuse just falls right out.
I removed the panel surrounding the fuse box and discovered a 6-conductor plug with nothing plugged into it. I put a meter on the conductors and found that several of them change values when I push the little blue button above the fan control. Wires are: Orange, Red, Purple/Brown, White/Purple, White/Black, Black/White
So my first question is not as important but is basically WTF happened here? Nobody would uninstall the means to plug in a fuse, right? It would take some effort without any possible benefit. Would the factory really install A/C on a van but only install the last 3 inches of wire to the fuse after the option was paid for? If so it would seem like a money losing idea to buy all those compressors and plumbing if some would not get paid for.

Obviously a fuse but is there a relay involved? What is the blue connector called? Mopar part numbers greatly appreciated!
After this electrical puzzle is solved I get to find out if they charged the system with refrigerant. I just realized this was built the same year as the Freon-12 phaseout so this could have either.
I dont have access to any info on the ac stuff but I can tell you the blue plug is the connector for the OBD1 scan tool before 1996 everyone had different connectors so the made a standard connector after 1996 for what you see now in every car.
