Default 2000 Chrysler town and country 3.8 heating problems/leak.

today driving to work i starting losing my heat. my temp gauge went up a little bit but not much. i slowed down and the temp went back to where it was and stayed there. i had no heat for the rest of my drive. on break i went out and checked my fluid and my fluid is ok. i started it up and let it run till it was up to temp and the gauge was also indicating it was up to temp. i checked the hoses and none felt hot. i noticed a puddle of coolant on the ground. would a leak stop me from getting heat all together?? any ideas. i was thinking maybe my water pump went bad and is leaking but have not been able to verify. the time i still have i could not find a leak but was unsure if a leak could cause the heating issue all together.. please help.

First you'll need to sort the leak. Your loss of heat is due to your coolant not getting to your heater due to drop in coolant. Hoses have air in them so not getting hot. So sort leak and punge hoses while topping up coolant.
