Does anyone know why the vehicle cuts out when going uphill, fine on straights etc ... ?????

 

Very dirty fuel filter restricting fuel flow?

Not enough of a restriction when driving normally, but enough to stop the engine when you have your foot down uphill.

May well be something else, but the fuel fitler is the easiest and cheapest place to start.
