2006 Adjustable Pedals - Accelerator spring location
I am hoping someone can help, but I just replaced the heater core on a 2006 Town and Country. This model has the power adjustable pedals, so I needed to remove the accelerator pedal from the unit as well as the steering connection to get the heater core out. In removing the accelerator, there was a spring connected to it. I have the heater core in and I am reassembling everything but having a terrible time figuring out how the spring goes back. The below video shows the disassembled parts and the speaker even mentions the spring and where it should be connected. However, in trying this, the spring catches and does not work well and scrubs making noise I am sure was not there prior when driving. I have tried orienting the spring multiple ways all with similar results. Does anyone have a picture, diagram, or advice on how this spring should be installed? It seems such a simple thing but it has stumped me so I am wondering if the video points out the wrong location to attach the spring. Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Replace heater core with adjustable pedals town and country

I wanted to follow up and document the resolution for anyone else who may run into this. After a closer inspection, I noticed a second hole which seemed to make more sense as far as location and not pinching the spring. See the picture below where I added a red arrow pointing to this hole. With a little patience, I hooked the longer end of the spring to the hole shown in the image below. I took the accelerator pedal and put it close to the position where it would be mounted and the other end of the spring lined up and was very close to the hole on the pedal which was a good sign. I was able to work my hand up to the spring and stretch and attach it. Once I had this in place, I carefully placed and mounted the pedal in the pivot point to make sure nothing moved so the spring would not dislodge itself. Then I attached the cable to the end and tested the pedal and all seemed normal. I finished putting everything back in place and drove a bit and everything was well. I hope this helps someone down the road save themselves a bit frustration! Unfortunately, even with the pedals moved all the way down or up, there was not enough clearance to remove the heater core. From what I have read and researched, the whole pedal assembly (brake and gas) is supposed to come out when changing the heater core for models with adjustable pedals, but, just removing the steering mechanism and the accelerator pedal worked in this case.
