Question 2008 T&C Touring VES fuse M10 keeps blowing

Hi all;

Our 2008 T&C Touring's rear DVD displays, the lower DVD player, the driver side vanity light and the garage control are out, inspected the fuse, it was blown, replaced it w/ 15 AMP, each time they would blow, looked up the manual which said it should be a 20 AMP (the guide on the underside of the fusebox cover says 15 AMP) and the 20 blows immediately as well. I've searched this forum, there was been problems close to this one but I could not find one specifically w/ my issue. I am getting ready to take a road trip w/ my 3 1/2 and 6 year old, would very much appreciate any input on how to resolve this, thank you.

Seems to me that the fuse blows because you have a short-circuit somewhere.
That way you can replace fuses all day long and they keep blowing them

I would note what devices/lights went out when the fuse blows, disconnect or power off as much as possible and replace the fuse.
Then swhitch on/connect all devices one by one until you find what device/light has the shorty-circuit.

thanks for your help, but the fuse blows as soon as I touch it to the connectors. I'm thinking I need to isolate it via the wire harness, but I'm not sure how to go about that, does anyone have a helpful diagram for such a task?

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying.
You mean the fuse blows as soon as you put the fuse in its socket?
That would be clear evidence of a short circuit somewhere in that part of your electrical system, like in the DvD player or something.

Right Vmaxxer, as soon as it touches the connectors it pops.

how do I go about isolating the devices? the M10 slot controls the driver vanity mirror light, the garage door controller, the lower DVD player and the 2 rear DVD players, how do I go about disconnecting them 1 by 1 to isolate where the problem is? thank you.

My Chrysler doesn't have DVD players, garage door controller or vanity lights So I don't know how those devices are connected but I figure you can get them out like a car radio, and they will probably be attached with a connector so pull out the connectors of the all the devices and see if the fuse still pops.
If fuse not blows, it is one of the devices and you can connect them one by one until the fuse pops again.

If the fuse still blows when all are disconnected it will be a short-circuit in the wiring and than you have a nice search mission and I recommend you let a mechanic do that search.
