2008 Town & Country - Rear Video Monitor not working

Hopefully someone can help here.

I'm having some trouble with the second row video monitor and hopefully someone has a suggestion. The monitor itself will not turn on.

I've tried replacing the ribbon cable with no results. The monitor itself will not turn on.

The front row TV and the 3rd row TV work perfectly.

Everything works great except the 2nd Row TV will not turn on from a black screen.

The dealership is saying that I need a new TV. $800 + labor.

I'd really like to find an easy fix, or easier at least. Most things I read pointed to the ribbon cables but that didn't fix it.

Thanks for the help

Josh

I'm not familiar with the 2008 model but how easy would it be to swap the 2nd and 3rd row screens. This would prove if it's the screen or something else.

I tried it and it just doesn't work. They're actually 2 different units with different electrical connections.

I tried so many different combinations. I even took the TV unit itself, out of the casing and moved it into the 2nd row and that didn't work.

Josh, have you seen this thread https://www.chryslerforum.com/forum/...problem-15915/

It could be the solution to your problem.

Alan, that thread talked about the cracked ribbon cable. I replaced both of them and I'm still having the problem.

Without purchasing a new unit I'm at a loss for what to test.

Josh
