2009 cabin air temperature setting iffy
I have a 2009 tc with manual ac since late summer 2016. The Ac and heat works fine but I am not sure about the air temperature control. I would expect it to be neutral in the middle setting and somewhat outside temperature on full on cold. I was trying to get a better sense of it when we did an 8 hour road trip with temperatures betwen 40 and 70 with low humidity and we drove it without ac. Even at night when it was low 40 the vents would blow lukewarm air when set to max cold. When outside was in pleasant 70 the vents set to max cold would blow way to warm air to make it comfortable without AC. Any idea if that is acceptable performance? Could it be thermostat not cutting off or maybe flap not closing? Any suggestions what best way to test.
I think I read somewhere on this page:

... that the actuators can be re-aligned by holding power and recycle for 5 seconds...
