I just bought a used 2009 Town & Country with 41K miles. I've had an issue where the van will chime every so often. At first I thought it was just odd because I didn't see any lights come on, but today when it chimed the seat belt light flashed for a quick tick.

This will happen when a larger bump is hit, or even if you adjust yourself in the seat. It's not constant and some trips it doesn't happen at all. My wife said that yesterday when it did it she pulled on the belt and kind of jiggled it and it chimed and flashed a couple of times.

My guess is that this is a wiring issue of some sort in the drivers seat, but I just don't even know where to begin. I did some searching on the forum, but didn't come up with anything. Has anyone had this issue? Would anyone have some recommendations?

 

Interesting...my used 2006 with just over 40,000 miles passenger seat belt chime seems touchy as well. If my passenger exits without me turning off the ignition, it chimes (and the light is on). Not sure it starts with a bump (it does not start immediately) so will watch closer....

Yes, very distracting and annoying while driving down the road and having it chime out of the blue.
