Question 2010 T&C liftgate won't open by key fob

Just purchased my 2010 T&C on 11/29/14. A few days ago I tried to open the rear gate by the key fob. It would not work. You can hear it clicking like it's trying to open but it doesn't.
While sitting in the van I pressed the overhead button and still nothing. Once I heard kind of a popping sound, which made me cringe thinking omg, something broke in there!
Gate opens fine if done manually. Stays up fine.
Just won't open or close by the key fob or by pressing the button near the strut.
Any ideas? I'm really bummed out that something is already broken and we just paid the sales tax about a week ago...

chrysler5569,

Congrats on your Town & Country.
This could possibly be one of two things.
The power lift-gate assembly may need to be replaced or the hopefully it's a simple re-tention of the drive chain.
I would recommend having your dealer inspect and repair accordingly.
