Hi everyone,

Does anyone know the location of the fuel filter for a 2006 3.3 stow-and-go Grand Voyager. I understand from the workshop manual there is a filter with the pump inside the tank and some many threads / videos point to the top of the fuel tank for an external filter ?? As you can see in the photos I've partially dropped the tank but nothing seen. Could it be anywhere else? tried to follow fuel lines. Under the bonnet at all ?

New filter shown on seat is the recommended for this car.

I take it this is a Petrol(gasoline) version. Here in the USA they did have an external fuel filter ON a VERY FEW vehicles, all three of my recent vans showed a listing for that filter(and VERY EXPENSIVE), but NONE actually had it from the factory, relying solely on the in tank fuel pickup sock filter.
If you look at the lines that come with the new filter you will see that disconnecting them and replacing with the new units lines you can mount the filter to the underbody.

Thanks for the reply. Yes it is a 3.3 petrol. The Chrysler workshop manual doesn't show an in-line fuel filter anywhere either (although plenty of car parts outlets and ebay will list and sell one for it even if it doesn't actually exist), only the pick up in the tank. I will drop into my local ChryslerJeep dealer to ask them and get a tank filter. Think will be a good idea to create/add an in-line filter as you say at some point, although curing the initial problem of poor acceleration/misfire over 2400rpm (P0344 cam/crank sensor problem) is priority

 

I'd bet it's just a sock on the in-tank pump, which rarely (if ever) needs servicing.
