Default 96 T&C 342,000 and still going

Hello all! First off I'm going for 500,000 on my 96 lol I get laughed at all the time for that statement. It's been through one tranny and i think second one is on it's way out. I've hit four deer with it, mostly front end damage from those, headlights, hood, front plastic, different drivers door, back hatch. Well anyway I'm looking to buy a newer van. One of my choices is a 07 T&C. Owner says all highway miles and everything works fine, 228,000 miles. I've got him down to 2300. Very little rust. The second is a 03 T&C 177,000 miles. The issues with this one, AC dont work, Sunroof wont retract, drivers window might have bad motor, rear hatch can only be opened with the key. This one is 1400 or best offer. I'm pretty sure I can figure out the door, hatch and sunroof. Not too sure about AC. Also very little rust. There might be a few more issues, I'm just waiting for his reply. So I'd like to hear some input, what would you do? I'm fairly good with the wrench. Nick

Congrats on the one third million miles in your motor. Is that longevity or what?

I guess you are talking about petrol engines? They do amazingly well on high mileage too I see.
anyway, personally I would probably go for the lower mileage in choosing your new car, the age difference doesn't matter that much imho and an AC and such are probably repairable with the $900 you save

So I bought the 03. Got it for 1000. A few minor problems, I hope. Drivers and passenger windows wont go down . Tailgate only opens with the key. Moonroof wont open. Sliding doors seem kinda tight, maybe just need to be lubed. Lots of oil leaks. Looks like valve cover gaskets, tranny gasket. But my main concern is a clanking in the front over mainly rough roads, smooth roads no noise. They had a reciept for sway bar bushing kit, so I'm kinda concerned about this one. I didn't hear it on my test drive. So any thoughts?

I had the same, I replaced sway bar bushings (50% less "clunck") the the stabilizer arms (?) (dunno what its called in english ) > 99% less clunck..
