Default 97 T&C service engine light

I have a 97 t&c that runs fine and drives just gr8 however the service engine soon light comes on and stays on, i had the codes pulled at autozone but it does not give any code says everything passes, i tried removing the battery positive cable and let it set for 15 min and reconnected it, started the engine and the sel did not come on until 5 min later so i had codes read again and still nothing showing up as any trouble. Does anyone have any idea as to what may cause this ser eng light to come on when there is no codes showing? Any info is greatly appreciated.

Two years ago same kind of issue happened to me and I took the van to the dealer. They found out the unit that controls the exhaust gases that are circulated back and mixed with fresh air that goes to the engine was malfunctioning in this case, the valve stayed open. The vehicle had lost power when the engine light was on. Have that checked out.

Sometimes you can trip a trouble code. I did the same thing in the parking lot of Autozone after I got no codes.

Follow this procedure:
Start the car.
Rev the engine to 2500 rpms. 10 sec's.
Back to idle.
put it into each gear. PRND3L and back to Park. 5 sec's each gear.
Turn on the A/C . 10 sec's.
Turn off the A/C.
Turn off the car.
NOW try the trouble code check or their reader.

ON /OFF / ON / OFF / ON / OFF the ignition without starting the car.
Now count the flashing codes on the service engine light.

Hope it helps.
