Default 98 Voyager steering wheel electrics

Hi Guys,
last week my air bag light stayed on my 98 voyager (aussie version) so I dived on here and figured the clock wire in the steering wheel must of broke. I just discovered the cruise control and the horn also aren't working. I'm figuring (or hoping) a plug for the wheel electrics has came apart or something.
Has anyone else had the same issue.
Thanks in advance.
Gary in Australia

Your CLOCKSPRING has failed. it is where all the wires come out below the steering wheel. In the USA, there is a recal on this part because of the failures they have.

Clockspring that's the name of it, thanks.
Huring a recent trip to Canada I noticed a mate over there's 98 SS/T Ram had the exact same steering column, but on the Left side of course.
Do these sprinds end up failing in these units as wel?
Cheers
Gary

IDK about the other vehicle failures, but it could very well be the same issue. I have, but rarely, encountered other vehicles with the same failure

I sure would love to get a Right hand drive grand caravan TD 5speed into the US. I wonder how to go about doing it. it wouldnt' be 'legal' to license in the US but I could just put my dealer plate on it and drive.
