ABS LIGHT AND TRAC CONTROL

Hello,
I havean '05 T&C with40K miles. Today, the ABS light and traction control off light came on and won't reset. This happened once about a year ago, but I thought it was due to over-heating as it was 100 degrees. At that time, the dealer found nothing wrong. Any idea what could be causing this issue? Thanks!

RE: ABS LIGHT AND TRAC CONTROL

those 2 systems both use the same parts(wheel speed sensors at each wheel). I'd guess that
one of the wheel sensors(ABS sensors) is bad, or the wire is loose or cut. Should be an easy & not too expensive fix. A computer scan should show which wheel sensoris the problem

You were right. At the passenger side rear wheel, the cable was pinched between the brake line and the frame. I rerouted it and now all is fine. Once again,Chrysler quality shines through...

Thanks,
Bill

what quality was that??? u dont think that some one that changed your brake pads last time could have done that? an 05 I would think u would have changed your pads by now at least once. Plus if that was an issue me personally I would think that it would have caused an issue long b4 now.

RE: ABS LIGHT AND TRAC CONTROL

No one touched the brakes just yet. The abs line was pinched between the frame and the brake line. The damage must have been slow wearover time. The engineering was OK but the assembly was poor. For the two vehicles that I've owned, I've seen too many issues of poor assembly quality and cheap materials that don't hold up. If I didn't do most of the repairs myself (or had them addressed under warranty), I would easily have dropped $5K in each vehicle to correct nonsense stuff. That IMHO is completely unsat and perhaps the primary reason that people are foregoing American cars in droves. Just look at any recent Consumer Reports and see how the Americans (especially Chrysler) stack up when compared with foreign makes. It's extremely disappointing when a Hyundai van completely outclasses Chrysler's best. The only bright side is that repair parts are readily availble and usually inexpensive.
