ac electrical problem
im working on a 03 t/c i cant get the comp to kick on i used my power probe and put power thru at the relay and nothing. went down to the comp put power to it and it kicked in .my pressures are 60 on the low side and 40 on the high side. could the pressure switch be bad or something else?? thanks ronny
btw i dont think the a/c has worked in a couple years |
Jump 87 and 30 at the relay Holes , with the relay OUT...Does The Compesor come on, and what happens to your Pressures....
|
i will try that tommorow
|
jumped them and comp came on low side went down to 5 tried to add freon and low side went to100 and high side went to 300 turned every thing off . do iguess i have a blockage should a new dryer and exspansion .valve cure it or is there a orfice tube in there . thanks

Does the fan work?????
Its an Expansion Valve...But Doubtful that you are BLOCKED UP...... Hi low side and High Hi side are an Indication of eiter Overcharged, or...Excessive pressure in the condenser from lack of heat dispersion. If the fan functions properly spray the condenser with a garden hose and see if that helps..if it does, CLEAN THE BUGS and Straighten the fins. |
the fan didnt come on when i jumped it but even when the relay is in there it dosent come on even when it had normal pressure . i switched it with a relay beside it and still nothing.
|
Thats where the High pressures are coming from.......
You have to get the fan to work. Start the car and unplug the coolant temperature sensor, that will default the computer to "fan on" or "fan command". See if the fans come on with the sensor unplugged. |
i have been busy today havent touched it gonna try tommorow when wife isnt here:rolleyes:
|
i couldnt unplug the cts so i just ran the van till they came on . they came on at 220 and kicked out at 210 where is the relay for the fans it is not marked in the relay box .also it popped a p1491 code after i guess messing around with the fan plugs?
|
the fans used to run when the cts was bad i replaced it when i was fixing the engine problems
