Default AC Hissing noise.

As per the title. My 2003 Grand Voyager seems to make a big hiss about every 30 seconds when the compressor is on.
Not sure if this is related but the air isnt too cold that comes out so I guess it needs a regass?
Problem is I want to know if its making that noise because the ac is busted and I need a new system before I spend money re gassing.

Thanks in advance

freons natural state is a gas so if released into the air it will evaporate
When in the ac system it is compressed under pressure so it will stay at a liquid state.
if u have a leak it will escape and have low freon.

the his is because there is not enough freon in the system just like if u turn on the water faucet a little it will make a noise until it is turned on more then it goes away.

Thanks for that.

Are there common places for it to leak?
