Hello fellow chrysler owners,

I am having a noise issue with my 97 plymouth voyager 3.0 liter when the air conditioner is on. As the airconditioner is running, when the accelerator is pressed a loud vroooooommmmmmm sound comes from around the compressor. The air conditioning is very cold and was recharged recently. The only time the vroom sound is heard is when i press on the gas. Please help me, i dont want to buy a $400 compressor if it is not the problem. Thanks

whatever it is, it needs to be fixed before something happenes to compressor.

it may be that the system is overfilled with refrigerant. electric clutch needs to be checked, also mountings of the compressor and drive belt. noise is always a bad sign.
