I just buy a Chrysler town & country 2015 but I have a hard time with the pedals, there is too big of a gap between the gas pedal and brake pedal. Basically you lift your foot off the gas pedal, raise it an inch or two and it's still not far enough, so you hit the side of the brake pedal. In an emergency braking situation this could be the difference between stopping in time or being in an accident.

I mentioned this to a dealer and he said, "Ya, that's been like that for years". WHAT a disappointment. I even saw a post in 2008 on this forum of a guy complaining of the same issue. There's two issues here:

1. Although it's only a split second the travel time is farther that it should be. This means that braking distance is much farther in an accident; farther than it would be if the pedal gap was fixed.

2. When I drive my car I get muscle memory on how far you need to lift your foot to get to the brake pedal, when I get back into the van, I repeatedly have this issue of hitting the brake pedal on the side; which is even longer to affectively brake. There should be an industry standard, but then again I've driven hundreds of other cars / vans and have never seen experienced this huge gap.

I've asked if there's an after market attachment or some way to fix this but haven't found a solution. Does anyone know if there's an attachment for the gas pedal that would raise it up a little and reduce the gap ?
