Commonly used as cheepo taxi's in warm countries, it was a copy [ish] and a 6 utility seat competitor to the beetle. I first came across it in the early 60's on my annual Italian week where they used it as an airport and other taxi cab. I know they made a RHD version because a neighbour in Brookfield Middlesbrough also in the 60's owned two and used them for his business.

My dad bought one in the mid 60's ferry all us kids about. He died quite young and I ended up 'acquiring' the Multipla. I made a few cosmetic changes, the woodrim steering wheel, veneered dashboard and a coat of Valspar mid blue on the lower half, applied with a brush! After putting a conrod through the block I offloaded it and bought a pink Austin *** for £35 from a local dealer. The photo of the left hand drive Multipla came from Google, mine was a right hooker.

Default To Captain Chrysler

I modified the pic to give it a grey background, same as the forum pages, but I was probably a little too subtle the first time I posted it. So if you want it, come and get it.
