Hi all, I have a 2.8 crd 2004 voyager, I put a new accessory belt tensioner on last year 3k ago, dealer part, the thing is I recently put new glow plugs in so had to take the alternator off to get to one of them, after all was refitted the belt tensioner started bouncing on idle. So I put a new dealer part belt on which was better but still not right, is it anything to do with the alternator pully like on the merc diesels (2.2cdi). Any help on this would be great as its quite noisy and annoying. Thanks, Jon.

 

same problem hi all i have a 2004 chrysler voyager 2.8crd and the serpentine belt is slapping between the crank pulley and the aircon pulley i have replaced belt ,tensioner,idler pulley,and pulley on the alternator but still not stopped slapping please help as i am at a lose end what the problem can be thanks :.(

 

Hi, I have replaced my alternator pulley and it's resolved my problem, smooth again. Have you tried running it with the p,steering pump belt off, might be the pump. Jon.
