Climate Control display fault
Hi Everyone,
New to the forms, but have had so much valuable information from them so far, so firstly, THANK YOU!
Now onto my problem, I have a 2.8CRD Grand Voyager exec 2004 model and have a strange climate control display malfunction. One morning it randomly did this, and since then haven't managed to get rid of it. On the two variable controls (the fan speed and the directional control) the first 3 LED's are constantly lit up on both sides, no matter what position the variable is put to they sit showing 3 LED's. This is also irrespective of it being on Auto low/High or any other settings. If I turn the unit off, the LED's do turn off. Interestingly, it doesn't hamper the operation of the unit, if you change fan speed, it changes, it just doesn't display what setting its on.
Does anyone know what would be causing this issue? I'm reasonably clued-up when it comes to electronics so have taken the dashboard apart, took the CC control module out of the facia and disassembled it checking for the usual problems, along the lines of loose wires, faulty traces, burnt out traces, etc and nothing at all along those lines.
Anyone have any clues or suggestions on what to try?
Thanks in advance.
Andy

Sorry, quick amendment, I did a lot more testing last night with this:
Ignition ON, CC unit power on, 3 LED's lit up on CC unit
Ignition ON, CC unit power off, 3 LED's lit up on CC unit
Ignition ON, CC unit power on, Dipped/parking lights on, 3 LED's lit up on CC unit
Ignition ON, CC unit power off, Dipped/parking lights on, 3 LED's lit up on CC unit
Ignition Off, CC unit power off, Dipped/parking lights off, no lights on CC unit
Ignition Off, CC unit power off, Dipped/parking lights on, no lights on CC unit
So it seems that whenever power is applied to the CC unit boards, the LED's light up.
