Chrysler grand voyager auto 1998 with this code, has no reverse, will go into p, n, d, 3, l, but when selecting r there is no drive also, when in d it engages instantly but will only ten miles per hour as when it tries to change to second it just slips into neutral with no drive, if I then turn ignition off and back on and slow down below 10mph it will re select first and will continue this as long as I want, have spent 63 pound on atf + 4 direct from Chrysler but this has made no difference can anybody help as would rather not throw the car away ....... I am fairly certain this will relate to a gearbox output sensor.
I had same problem ... I was going to burn the car.......... then bought a genuine chrysler part ( 4800479 ) for £29 off ebay............ Runs like a new car.
Same pattern parts are out there at £12 ...not sure how good they are.
Takes 5 minutes to fit. Easy access from top of engine.

 

Thing is I've swooped output sensor over with one from a 51 plate but has made no difference on either car but then again I could be unlucky as they both have gearbox issues now So can't guarantee the ones I've swooped from what I thought was a good car just needing a oil change was good , May try this cheers

 

It is worth trying to find a gearbox specialist and asking if they have a code reader for the chrysler..........£35 well spent.
The guy I went to used a LAUNCH diagnostic tool and it pinged the fault and code correctly immediatly.
