Default Cooling fan relay connector

Hi - I feel like a real dummy here, but I'm getting rather frustrated with my attempts to fix a problem I am having with my 2006 Town and Country and was hoping someone on this forum can help me.

I wanted to test the cooling fan relay found on the bumper behind the grill. There is a red tab on the connector that on other connectors just slides out of place to allow the tab to be pushed to release the lock of the connector allowing the connector to be disconnected. For some reason I cannot get this red tab to slide in any direction. I do not wish to force this tab and potentially break it and was hoping someone can give me some guidance on this. Does this tab really slide to the right toward the connector to release the locking mechanism? The red tab has a slight slot cut in it where it forms a lip for finding purchase.

That's good to hear - thanks for the reply. I was afraid of doing irreparable damage by forcing it. Thanks again.

Is there an easy way to test this relay once it is disconnected and removed?

Thanks Kevin. Guess I'll have to try and locate a wiring diagram then. One more question for ya - since the relay appears to be riveted to the bumper support, is the replacement then typically screwed or bolted back in place? Or do you guys rivet it again? Does it really matter as long as it is secure?

Hope it's drier in Norcross than it is here in upstate NY - thanks again for the replies.

Yeah, what's with that? We went to Atlanta for a funeral over the weekend and it rained every day. My son came down from CT and said it was 20º cooler in Atlanta than up north!

I hear that. I'll probably not have much yield, or even plants left in the garden this year due to all the rain. I've had 2 inches of standing water where my tomatoes are all planted. And I don't play golf well when the ground is this wet
