Default Diagnostics software for use on a laptop

Sorry to re-hash a thread from 2008, but is there any diagnostic software avaliable yet that I could run on a laptop?
It's for an ABS fault (light comes on now and again) and I dont think the code readers from ebay will do it. (obd1 probably for my 2002 diesel although could be obd2).
Or does it have to be DRMIII.
If I was to go to a Chrysler garage, what sort of costs would I be looking at to diagnose an ABS fault?

Thanks in advance.

I was going to post a similar question, but noticed yours and figured mine is so close to the same question, I'm assuming you wouldn't mind me tagging along.

Along that same line of question, I have a 96 Town & Country, which I need to activate the ABS bleed command with a scan tool.

Anyone have an idea of which scan tools support this year? It has the Bendix LC4 system.

I already know Genisys doesn't support it. It only goes back to 97. For that matter any of the SPX platforms do not support it from what I can see.

And don't tell me a Tech II cause I'm looking for one that's reasonably priced so I can purchase it, not mortgage my house for it. Kind of along the lines of PC related etc.
